I loved the book and the fact that you held yourself accountable for you're actions. I just want to know why you did not talk about your steroid use?
You were so honest about everything else, why did you leave this part out?

Ron- I did not talk about steroid use because there is no steroid use to talk about.  I achevied everything I got in football through hard work- plain and simple.  Your accusation is purely speculation.  Just because there have been players in the past that have taken steroids to get theirs bodies in shape, does not mean that ALL players have taken steroids.  There was a strict steroid policy at Nebraska that would have made it very difficult for someone to use steroids and not be caught.  Not only did the Big 8 & Big 12 test but so did the NCAA.  Even more, Coach Osborne had the training staff administer numerous random tests throughout the year for all players.  I'm curious to know how you came to this decision, is it soley because I was 275lbs, or was it because I was part of one of the most successful runs in college football or was it because you heard a rumor?  Funny thing is that I would be considered extremely small for a defensive tackle if I was playing today.  I was considered small back when I played but compared to players today, I don't really measure up.  That must mean all the players today are on the "sauce".  Maybe you didn't know that after I finished practice at Nebraska I would go to the weightroom and train for an hour and a half.  When I finished eating, I would head home for an hour or two and then it was back in the car heading over to the local gym where I would train for another hour or two.  It's called hard work!  Not everybody cheats to get ahead in life.  Please get your facts straight before you make an accusation like that, or if it was something you heard through the grapevine, I would advise you not to believe every rumor that gets passed around.  I'm glad you enjoyed the book but on the topic of steroids, sorry to dissappoint you.
